On Tuesday, August 9th, Hopewell will be the beneficiary of Whole Foods Lansdowne’s Community Giving Day. As a part of Whole Foods’ commitment to supporting local charitable organizations, each store will set aside 5% of the net sales for one day to donate to a community charity that is chosen by the staff.

Leading up to the August Community Giving Day, Hopewell Board Member Nerys Parry will be presenting on behalf of Hopewell at the Whole Foods’ Speakers Series on Wednesday, July 27th at 6:30 pm. The topic will be “Eating Disorders: When Mental Illness Impacts our Relationship with Food.”

Please come out and support Nerys on July 27th, and put a shopping trip to Whole Foods Lansdowne in your calendar for Tuesday, August 9th, to help us continue providing services and supports to those who struggle with Eating Disorders, as well as their families and friends. June 2nd is World Eating Disorders Action Day!

May 27, 2016   //   by hopewell_admin   //   Events, Hopewell  //  Comments Off on June 2nd is World Eating Disorders Action Day!

On June 2nd, 2016, Hopewell will join hundreds of other organizations around the world to raise awareness during the very first World Eating Disorders Action Day. Hopewell will be at the Rideau Centre 11am-5pm at Centre Court of the 1st floor raising awareness! Come by and see us if you can!

What is World Eating Disorders Action Day?

ONE day dedicated to providing accurate information and changing the ways eating disorders are understood and perceived.

ONE day for diverse eating disorder advocates  to promote awareness and uplift marginalized communities and underrepresented global regions.

ONE day to foster partnerships around the world and inspire action for change.

Why World Eating Disorders Action Day?

We desire to ‘change the face’ of EDs and highlight marginalized and underrepresented struggles. We hope to show the world that eating disorders do not discriminate in an effort to combat stigma and encourage more people to seek support.

We seek to promote awareness of eating disorders as being genetically linked and treatable, and to disseminate information about evidence-based treatment.

World Eating Disorders Action Day hopes to make treatment and support accessible to all who struggle by highlighting and discussing barriers to accessing care.
