 The Hopewell “Love Your Life” Valentine’s Gala 2013

The fifth annual Hopewell “Love Your Life” Valentine’s Gala took  place on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Held at our event partner’s Hilton Garden Inn (Ottawa airport location) the  event was a night of celebration which  included a delicious meal, a silent auction and musical entertainment from the incomparable Showtime Party Band. Other highlights were a fun photo booth courtesy  of  photographer Anna Epp and a Sip ‘n Tip with wine provided by Pelee Island Wineries.  The evening was emceed by Kim Sullivan of Boom 99.7 and our guests  danced the night away  and took the opportunity to “Love their lives”!

Thanks  to the organizing committee, honorary  chairs  Police Chief Charles Bordeleau and media personality Natalie Kahale and all who donated and supported!

Fashionistas Flaunt it for Hopewell

Hopewell’s fundraiser “Fashionistas Flaunt it for Hopewell” was held at Ashbury College on October 3rd and had a vintage Hollywood theme. One hundred and seventy five guests enjoyed a fabulous cocktail, dinner and a fashion show expertly emceed by Stuntman Stu with fashions from Anik Boutique, Harry Rosen and Pat Flesher Furs. Complimentary valet parking courtesy of Marks Motors of Ottawa was provided by Responsible Choice.

The guest speaker  was Dr. Ian Manion, clinical psychologist, researcher and executive director of the Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at CHEO.

4th Annual  ”Love Your Life” Valentine’s Gala 2012

The 4th Annual Hopewell “Love Your Life” Valentine’s Gala took place on Saturday, February 11 at the Hilton Garden Inn (Ottawa Airport). The fun filled evening celebrated every body,  and our guests enjoyed a delicious four course  meal, bid on silent auction items, had their photographs taken by Jose from YouGotSquared and danced the night away to the Show Time Party Band all the while raising funds for Hopewell.

Many thanks to  Boom 99.7 and our  fabulous emcee Kim Sullivan who kept the party going.

Thanks also to Place d’Orleans who supported the silent auction with the “Swap and Shop” event,  all the silent auction donors, Pelee Island Winery for the “Sip n Tip” and door prizes.

Our event partner  The Hilton Garden Inn  were as always amazing to work with.

Ottawa Participates in Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2012

“Stepping out for Hopewell” Fashion Show 2011

Hopewell’s annual fundraiser, the “Stepping Out for Hopewell”  fashion show took place on October 18th, 2011 at the Royal Ottawa Golf  Club. Expertly emceed by crown prosecutor and stand up comic Kevin Phillips, this year’s event grossed over $80,000 thanks to many wonderful supporters.

Thank you to our sponsors Howard Fine Jewellers and Custom Designers, Scotia McLeod, Ottawa-Carleton Mortgage, Focus Eye Centre, West Jet,  Jubilee Fine Jeweller, and the Ottawa Citizen.

As always,  local notables  of all shapes and sizes  modelled beautiful fashions presented this year by Sukhoo Sukhoo, Harry Rosen, Schad & Schad Blu, and Pat Flesher Furs.

Our fantastic models this year were : Dental surgeon Dr.Tanya Bracanovich and daughter Mia; Athletes Sarah and Alexandra Holloway Joy and Greg Joy; tennis and kickboxing instructor Jason Lian; Julie and Wynne Jacobson from the US Embassy; CTV host Lianne Laing; local mystery author Mary Jane Maffini; HE Dr. Andrew  and Julie Pocock  of the British High Commission;  CBC’s Lucy van Oldenbarneveld; Jayne Watson of the NAC Foundation and her daughter Nicola Froislie; singer, songwriter  and businessman Gerry Wall; and our Mayor Jim Watson.

Our fashion coordinators had the support of a tremendous team of stylists from Scissors Hair Salon on Murray and Dior make-up artists, led by Angie Semple

3rd Annual Hopewell “Love Your Life” Valentine’s Gala – A Success!

The  2011  “Love Your Life” Valentine event was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came out to support , to eat , to sip n tip, to bid on a silent auction item and of course to dance! A huge thank you to the Hilton Garden Inn who once again provided  delicious food,  a fabulous venue and the “Everything  Hilton” raffle prize. Thanks to Kimberley Sullivan for doing a an amazing job emceeing the evening; Pelee Island Winery for the “Sip n Tip” and door prizes;  Erin Fitzpatrick  for portrait photographs; Quality Entertainment  for the lighting,   Advantage Audio Visual Rentals for the stage;  and the incredible Showtime Party Band  for keeping everyone on the dance floor until late. The event raised over $10, 000 for Hopewell’s programs and services.  See you in 2012!!

“Stepping Out for Hopewell” Fashion Show 2010

Once again under co-chairs Lina Hunt and Terri Hoddinott, the 7th annual “Stepping out for Hopewell” Fashion Show Fundraiser was a great success.  Our presenting sponsor Manhattan Marque along with Harry Rosen and Pat Flesher Furs dressed our celebrity models beautifully.  Stuntman Stu emceed the event and, as always, did us proud.  The evening projected Hopewell’s mission to help prevent severe eating issues by promoting positive body image, healthy eating and active living. Hosted at the elegant Royal Ottawa Golf Club, our guests were treated to a diverse selection of silent and five live auction items, delectable dining and a fabulous parade of designer fashions. Thanks to the generosity of community sponsors and private donors, the allure of the auction table and live auction, the evening netted over $78,000 to support Hopewell’s continued work to offer hope, help and support to those affected by an eating disorder. Sincerest thanks to all the models, auction contributors, volunteers, organizers, guests and sponsors and donors who contributed to the tremendous success of the event!
